A view from the Sheffield United away end

After two frustrating results against Plymouth Argyle and Oxford United, the Hatters now face arguably their toughest test of the week - a daunting away trip to Sheffield United. The Blades have become familiar foes to Luton in recent years, with the two clubs crossing paths in crucial moments: from our promotion battle in the 2022/23 season to last season’s tense relegation dogfight. Yet, Bramall Lane has proven a happy hunting ground for Luton Town, with the Hatters claiming victory in both of our last two visits.

To get a deeper understanding of what we can expect from Sheffield United, I had the pleasure of speaking with Blades Ramble.

Q: A strong start from Blades this season, how do you feel about your team's performances in the league so far?

A: Well technically… we’ve won 18 points and should be joint top (not counting our points deduction) after our unbeaten start! We’ve done great to blend a largely unfamiliar 11 together so quickly, and it does just feel that sooner or later, someone is gonna get a hammering!!

Q: Given the numerous matches between the two over the past few years, should we expect a similar style of football or something different this year?

A: Our style has changed this season, we’ve moved away from a 3 at the back to a 4-2-3-1 formation. We’re strong defensively and creative going forward, but we’ve retained that strong, aggressive edge to our play so I expect a feisty game on Saturday.

Q: Who are the players we should be worried about facing?

A: Our main threat is Gus Hamer… but we’ve threats all over the pitch. Never discount Kieffer Moore who’s yet to hit top gear in the goals dept but always looks sharp, but also Callum O’Hare and Jes Rak-Sakyi. Harrison Burrows could also cause you problems down your right, as well as from set plays.

Q: What are your expectations for this game and what is your score prediction?

A: Score prediction… 3-1 Blades!
